Ryan and Michael's Wedding Sept 14th 2013 # Procession "Please stay seated." Ryan and Michael enter the aisle. # Welcome Friends and family, we have come here today to celebrate love. It is with thoughtfulness and a deep realization of their commitment to each other that Ryan and Michael have chosen to stand before you to make this declaration of their love and loyalty. As we gather to share this important moment in their lives, let us surround Ryan and Michael with our love and best wishes for them, their wedding day and their journey in their new life together. # Reading You have known each other from the first glance of acquaintance to this point of commitment. At some point, you decided to marry. From that moment of yes to this moment of yes, indeed, you have been making promises and agreements in an informal way. All those conversations that were held riding in a car or over a meal or during long walks - all those sentences that began with "When we're married" and continued with "I will and you will and we will"- those late night talks that included "someday" and "somehow" and "maybe"- and all those promises that are unspoken matters of the heart. All these common things, and more, are the real process of a wedding. The symbolic vows that you are about to make are a way of saying to one another, "You know all those things we've promised and hoped and dreamed- well, I meant it all, every word." Look at one another and remember this moment in time. Before this moment you have been many things to one another- acquaintance, friend, companion, lover, dancing partner, and even teacher, for you have learned much from one another in these last few years. Now you shall say a few words that take you across a threshold of life, and things will never quite be the same between you. For after these vows, you shall say to the world, this- is my husband. # Vows ## Ryan's Vows Michael. I love you and I'm so glad we made it here. You are the most genuine and loving person I know. Every day seems better than the one before it. I promise to love you when the days get better and just as much when they get worse. I will grow with you, I will laugh with you, and I will never stop falling for you. We are not perfect but my love for you is and always will be. I promise these things to you today and every day for the rest of our lives. ## Michael's Vows Ryan, I love you. You are my best friend and partner in crime. I promise to stand by you, to laugh with you, and to fill our life with happiness. I promise to love you always, no matter what comes or goes. With friendship, love, and loyalty I promise these things today and for the rest of our life. # Ring Story This is the point in the ceremony where we usually talk about the wedding bands being a perfect circle, with no beginning and no end. But we all know that these rings do have a beginning. Rock is dug up from the earth. Metal is liquefied in a furnace at a thousand degrees, then molded, cooled, and painstakingly polished. Something beautiful is made from raw elements. Love is like that. It's hot, dirty work. It comes from humble beginnings, made by imperfect beings. It's the process of making something beautiful where there was once nothing at all. These two lives are now joined in one unbroken circle. Wherever they go - may they always return to one another. May these two find in each other the love for which we all yearn. May they grow in understanding and compassion. # Rings Ryan, do you have a ring for Michael? Ryan, in placing this ring on Michael's finger, repeat after me: Michael, I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and as the symbol of our unity and with this ring, I thee wed. Michael, do you have a ring for Ryan? Michael, in placing this ring on Ryan's finger, repeat after me: Ryan, I give you this ring as the pledge of my love and as the symbol of our unity and with this ring, I thee wed. And by the power vested to me by the State of Washington and thanks to Ref 74 and to the power of common decency, I now pronounce you husband and husband, Michael and Ryan. # The Kiss Please join me in congratulating the new mister and mister. # 1st Recession Cue Violin Michael and Ryan Leave # Announcement Michael and Ryan would like to invite you to the patio for a cocktail hour while we flip this room for dinner # 2nd Recession First row and then all
